Great help in a difficult time

We would like to share with you today the heartfelt words of thanks and touching stories from families who have benefited from the generous support of the Lehnhardt Foundation. These voices not only reflect the profound impact of the Foundation but also testify to the meaningful changes it has brought to people’s lives.

Victor enjoys programming, drawing, and is studying English and French at school—and German on his own. He loves cycling, visiting museums, exploring architecture, new places, and cities. He enjoys swimming and the warm sea. Victor finds his way around new cities with ease and even plans routes using public transport. He loved the cochlear implant “snails.”

“We are grateful for the supplies, as they have always been expensive, and now, not everything arrives from suppliers in Ukraine. Thank you for thinking of us and supporting us.”

I.F. from Kyiv, 11 years old. He has worn hearing aids for 9 years, attends school, and lives the life of a regular 11-year-old—except that there is war. Living with hearing aids in Ukraine is even more difficult than living with a CI. Nothing is provided through the national program.
His mother, Oksana, was overjoyed and only believed it when the parcel arrived:

“I’m sincerely thankful to everyone involved—for the hearing aid dryer and all the batteries. This is a huge help in a very difficult time for us.”

Andrey, an adult CI user who works, was recently implanted and uses a Baha device. He was shocked at the cost of magnet pads:

“Good evening. I received wonderful magnet pads—exactly what I needed. There were 4 in a box and 14 cushioning pads altogether—perfect for me. Thank you again!”

Yaroslav found a new way to use the Soundark—he says it helps keep his glasses on! It’s now more comfortable than using elastic bands.

Darinka, 11 years old, lives in a village in the Cherkasy region. She has used Baha hearing devices for 9 years and is in 4th grade at a mainstream school. To distract her from the horrors of war, her mother allowed her to spend more time on her phone. Darinka created her own YouTube channel. She enjoys reading, drawing, and dressing up.
Her mother, Oksana, writes:

“We are incredibly grateful for your support during this difficult time. Everything you donated is much needed and very expensive here. My daughter and I are so happy and thankful. May God protect you and your loved ones. Thank you.”

Yaroslav lives in a small town in the Kyiv region. He has a tracheostomy, is blind in one eye, and has undergone many surgeries—but he’s strong, smart, and a true fighter. He has been dancing hip-hop for five years and competes with his team, winning prizes. A gentle, kind soul who loves riding his bike, drinking cocoa, and swimming in the sea.
The remote control he received will help him with learning. He attends a mainstream school, and his mother—a doctor—accompanies him as a medical assistant because of the care his stoma requires.

Ksenia, 7 years old, loves drawing, the sea, swimming, and going to school.
Her mother, Olya, writes:

“The battery supply will probably last for six months. We didn’t have any drying devices at all. Now we’re forced to live in a region with high humidity—this will be very helpful. Given the current situation, this is giga-mega-help.”

Everyone loved the cochlear implant “snails”!
Many thanks to CIC Rhein-Main!
